The Champagnes
Located in the heart of Epernay, La Maison Pierrel produces a full range of Champagnes, from a traditional blend to finer lines of blanc de blancs and rosés.
Les Traditions
Les Traditions is the classic line of Champagnes. Made using traditional methods, this line includes:
- Brut Noirs & Blancs — a result of a blend of different years incorporating 50% of reserve wines, this is a typical Chardonnay-based Champagne, with a bouquet of toast and almond, lemony and green apple aromas (60% Chardonnay; 40% Pinot Noir). It is an elegant, delicate and fully mature wine has a light nose, a rich body with a smooth finish and good length.
- Brut Blanc de Blancs — a 100% Chardonnay champagne, it has a slightly fruitier aroma. A very fine dessert wine.
- Brut Rosé — our favourite blend of the Traditionals, the Rosé offers a solid foundation yet showing freshness and finesse. With 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, red fruit aromas perfectly complement the floral notes. Attractive hue, delicate and tiny bubbles, with a light white foam. Compliments lamb and sweet-and-sour dishes very well. Also great served with cold desserts.
- Brut Vintage 2002 — the Côte des Blancs is reputed for the quality of its white Chardonnay grape, yielding an idyllic Blanc de Blancs Vintage. Made exclusively from the harvest of one year, this champagne shows a perfect maturity. With more than five years of aging, this Vintage 2002 is a wine of distinction and complexity, with a brioche and toasted-bread bouquet.
- Brut Vintage Cuvée Prestige 1996 — the jewel of the Traditions, particular care and attention are given to the production of this special and limited Cuvée, made from 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir grapes, carefully selected from the exceptional harvest of 1996. In a prestigious bottle, this Champagne is showing a particular finesse, with elegant floral aromas, brioche and almond notes.

Champagne à la française
In North America, Champagne is considered a celebratory drink, reserved for those very special occasions. However, if you visit the Champagne region of France, you might be surprised to learn that restaurants commonly serve Champagne with each course! The Rosé is served as an apéritif, followed by the Brut with the meal and concluded with a Blanc de Blancs with a dessert.
